Aqeel Virk is 41 years old, a devoted husband and father of four—two daughters and two sons. His deep-rooted family values drive his commitment to making Sugar Land a better place for all families.
As a dedicated realtor based in Sugar Land, Aqeel has been serving the community for the past six years. He leads a team of 10 agents under Aqeel Properties Group, helping families achieve their homeownership dreams while strengthening neighborhood connections.
Aqeel’s leadership extends beyond real estate. He served in the Pakistan Army for 15 years, retiring as a Major. His combined experience of 21 years in leadership roles—in both the military and real estate industry—has equipped him with the skills, discipline, and problem-solving abilities needed to serve the community effectively.
Currently, Aqeel is a police cadet at WCJC Police Academy, set to graduate in June 2025. His commitment to public safety reflects his vision for a safer, stronger Sugar Land, where families and businesses can thrive.
Now, he is stepping up to serve on a greater level—running for Sugar Land City Council At-Large Position 1 to bring fresh leadership, safety initiatives, and community-focused solutions to the city he calls home.
As a City Council Member, my primary focus will be ensuring our city remains one of the safest in Texas. Public safety extends beyond the work of our police and fire departments; it’s about building a stronger, more connected community. I will prioritize enhancing the resources and training available to our first responders, equipping them with the tools necessary to effectively protect and serve. Additionally, I will advocate for the integration of modren technology to support their efforts. Equally important is fostering stronger, positive relationships between our first responders and the community they serve. A safe city is a community where every individual feels secure and supported, and I will work diligently to make this vision a reality.
As a candidate for Sugar Land City Council, I am committed to strengthening our community by investing in vital social services that support families, seniors, and individuals in need. I will advocate for increased funding for mental health resources, affordable housing initiatives, and programs that provide job training opportunities. A critical priority is expanding elderly care services, particularly in the area of affordable senior housing and specialized care units. I believe that a strong city begins with caring for its residents, and I will work tirelessly to ensure that everyone in Sugar Land has access to the resources and support they need to thrive. My vision is to create a community where all residents,especially our seniors have the opportunity to live with dignity.
